I’m not always sure ‘Arry knows what he’s doing. We played well and Villa defended heroically but with the likes of Gudjohnsen on the bench he could’ve mixed it up a bit to get us the win. He reckons we were playing too well to change things although obviously this wasn’t well enough for us to get the three points.

- Gomes – Played well including a brilliant double save
- Corluka – Still playing like a men who thinks he left the gas on
- Dawson – Back to his old giving the ball away ways
- King – Very solid
- Bale – Yet another good game
- Huddlestone – A couple of good attempts on goal but not enough urgency in his play
- Palacios – Strong but headless
- Bentley – Another good game
- Modric – Good in patches
- Crouch – Should’ve scored with a header but looks limited
- Defoe – Lazy and indifferent
