A missed opportunity

BBC Sport – Football – Tottenham 0-0 Aston Villa

I’m not always sure ‘Arry knows what he’s doing. We played well and Villa defended heroically but with the likes of Gudjohnsen on the bench he could’ve mixed it up a bit to get us the win. He reckons we were playing too well to change things although obviously this wasn’t well enough for us to get the three points.

Player breakdown

  • Gomes – Played well including a brilliant double save
  • Corluka – Still playing like a men who thinks he left the gas on
  • Dawson – Back to his old giving the ball away ways
  • King – Very solid
  • Bale – Yet another good game
  • Huddlestone – A couple of good attempts on goal but not enough urgency in his play
  • Palacios – Strong but headless
  • Bentley – Another good game
  • Modric – Good in patches
  • Crouch – Should’ve scored with a header but looks limited
  • Defoe – Lazy and indifferent
