In a poor game, we grab a point in an unlikely 0-0 draw with Scott Parker showing he is probably the hardest player in English football. We probably would’ve lost this game last season, (that old chestnut again) but in truth Liverpool were poor and we defended and kept the ball pretty well. In the end we had too many players not meaning it enough (Adebayor in particular) so despite us having the best chance when Bale got through, a point hasn’t done us too much harm.

We have to say we were lucky to get a result in this game and Watford have a lot to be proud of. Too many of our players didn’t seem up for it especially Adebayor who should’ve filled his boots against Championship opposition. Parker and Livermore worked hard but some like Defoe need to look at themselves. Still all this will be forgotten when Ledley lifts the Cup at Wembley.

In 1987 The Arsenal beat us 2-1 in the replayed semi-final of the League Cup. That result started all the 1 nil down 2-1 up nonsense. I felt terrible at the time having been at the game and I sulked for a week afterwards. After today’s result, I nearly felt as bad as I did in 1987. We matched Citeh and showed everyone that we can compete at the highest level. I’m still not sure how we went 2-0 down in the first place and we showed great character to come back to two all and let’s face it we should’ve (and deserved) to win the game. I had a sinking feeling we would lose after we missed the chance as those kinds of things always happen to Tottenham. It was all made especially worse by that shit bag Ballotelli scoring as he shouldn’t have still been on the pitch after deliberately kicking Parker in the face.

In the first half we matched them although we were a bit weak going forward. VdV played too deep and BAE had one of his “it’s only a job type ” type performances but everyone else looked solid enough. Second half they came at us a bit but some how went two nil up. Undeterred we got a quick goal back, equalised with a typical Tottenham goal from Bale and after that there was only one team who looked likely to win it. Howard Webb just didn’t help us though missing a form arm smash on Kaboul from Lescott and the aforementioned Ballotelli incident. What do expect from a ref who didn’t send off the perpetrator of a kung-fu kick in the World Cup Final ? We can’t blame the ref for Defoe’s miss so as ‘Arry said afterwards they’re a good side and so are we.

We’ve had so many false dawns, inconsistent seasons and had to put up with so many mediocre players that you end up revelling in the misery of being a Spurs fans. ‘Arry has struck lucky with this group of players and I genuinely believe we’re a good side now. So we dropped two points against Wolves (who’ve been a bit of a bogey team for us the last few seasons) and too many of our players didn’t perform but I still believe. And if we win tomorrow I’ll become a fully fledged convert.

We go joint 2nd in the table as we overcome a rather lacklustre Everton side and keep our eighth clean sheet of the campaign. It seemed quite even in the first half until Azza made the most of a defensive mistake and put us in front ten minutes from the break and that seemed to knock the stuffing out of Everton. Second half we increased our lead with a BAE wonder goal and apart from a penalty shout right at the end, Everton just didn’t trouble us. Pav, Adebayor and Bale were all careless in front of goal and though by all means not a classic performance, we just seem to have that ability to win games with our quality.

We have come a long way this season and whilst it was a struggle against West Brom (and a compliment to us they came to defend), Tuesday’s and yesterday’s win in the Cup, cap a good week for the club. Against West Brom we should’ve made more of our early dominance and in terms of chances created we were all over them. Not vintage stuff but as Tiger always said a win is a win baby. Even with the second string out we were never going to lose against Cheltenham. At least players like Di Santos got a run out and Dawson was back but in the end I think we all know our best side and most of the players playing yesterday wouldn’t be in it.

I think the sloppy nature in which we gave the goal away is disappointing as is giving it away so near the end. We haven’t lost though, that’s the main thing. I always thought we could out football Swansea who like to play an open expansive game and it looks like they gave us a good game. We looked a little tired towards the end which is worrying so let’s hope we can pick ourselves up for the West Brom game and continue pushing the Manchester sides and keep ahead of the ground gaining Gooners.

I’m starting to believe that this team is starting to epitomise what we Tottenham fans want from our football team. We’ve had many false dawns since the great team of the 80′s but this lot are beginning to make me believe. We were the better team in the first half but Norwich were still in it. We created the chances, we just couldn’t take them. Second half, however, we absolutely murdered them. The football we played was breath taking and in Gareth Bale we had a player who was almost impossible to stop by fair means. It wasn’t just attacking we were good at. Kaboul and Gallas smothered their forwards and they didn’t get a sniff in the second half. If Messi had scored Bale’s second goal then the pundits would be going wetting their pants. It was just immense and if we can keep this sort of intensity up then there’s no reason why we can’t make a serious push for the title. There, I’ve said it.

We opened this game brilliantly as Chelsea stood off us and allowed us to play. For the first twenty minutes there was only one team in it but after we gave away a sloppy goal, we seemed to go worryingly flat and Chelsea had the better of the rest of the half. Second half they started stronger than us and we just couldn’t get back in the game. We woke up in the last fifteen minutes and could’ve won the game with, Gallas, Sandro and at the last Adebayor all should’ve scored. Having said that Chelsea had some good chances (especially Ramires) to win so in the end a draw was a fair result.
