You’ve got to love Monty. Only the other day he was slagging off Nick Faldo’s style of Captaincy (no drummers etc. DJ Spoony, a hint of racism there and so on) and now he wants Faldo to speak to the team any time. You have to wish that Monty would say the second thing that comes into his head, not the first.

Looks like Tiger’s going to be Ok for the US Open next week and he’s be paired with Mickelson in the first two rounds. I bet Tiger will scare him to death.

It’s early days I know but we seem to have an uneven mix of experienced and rookie players on the team as it stands. It looks like we’d be better off if we’d gone with the Americans choice of four wild card picks. At least that gives the Captain more control over the final team.

Bernhard Langer has made his wild card picks for the Ryder Cup team. Monty was obvious but I’m a little suprised he chose Donald. He’s played in the Walker Cup and done well in America but I bet he doesn’t play until the singles on Sunday. Jacobsen would’ve have been a better choice as he’s very strong mentally.
